AUDITION READY: PREP + PHOTOSHOOT

Prepare to shine at your upcoming summer intensive, company, and college dance program auditions! Ballet Arkansas invites dancers and parents to join us for a special day of audition preparation, professional photography, and valuable guidance from our artistic team.

 

Event Highlights

  • Mini Photo Session with Matthew Sewell (1:00–6:00 PM | Arkansas Repertory Theatre, 601 Main Street, Little Rock, AR 72201)

    • 20-minute private session

    • Professional headshot + 3–5 dance poses (based on your audition requirements or standard positions)

    • Digital images included after staff selects the strongest shots for auditions

    • Optional professional prints available for purchase

    • Parking: Theatre parking available in front and side lots

  • Audition Photo Consultation

    • Work with Ballet Arkansas staff and Artistic Director to refine lines, positions, and presentation

  • Parent Meeting & Q/A Session (Ballet Arkansas Studios, 520 Main Street, Little Rock, AR 72201)

    • Times: 6:00–7:00 PM

    • Learn about summer intensives, company auditions, and college dance program application timelines, requirements, and preparation strategies

    • Parking: Studio parking lot and street parking available

 

Registration Details

  • Cost: $225 per dancer (includes mini photo session, consultation, and parent meeting/Q/A)

  • Limited Availability: 15 photo slots only – first come, first served!

  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations after October 19, 2025 will receive no credit unless the spot is filled. If the spot is filled, a $200 credit will be issued.

 

What to Bring for Your Photo Session

  • List of required poses from your audition(s) (if applicable)

  • Multiple leotard/tights options for best fit and style

  • Pointe shoes or soft shoes as required

  • Hair and makeup prepared for a polished, professional look

Sitting Ballet Dancer

AUDITION READY - VIDEO SUPPORT

Ballet Arkansas offers personalized support for dancers preparing audition video submissions for summer intensive programs, college dance programs, and company auditions. Our staff will guide you through the filming process to ensure your materials meet program requirements and highlight your strengths.

 

Package Highlights

Audition Video + Non-Professional Photo Package

  • Includes up to 5 hours of video and photo capture with a dedicated Ballet Arkansas staff member

  • Cost: $350 (includes up to 5 hours in the studio, scheduled based on student/studio/teacher availability)

  • Should the time required be less than 5 hours, a session discount will be provided

  • Staff-selected video clips and photos shared for you to assemble into an audition video

  • Optional: Final video creation available at additional cost, depending on timeline and staff availability

  • Full audition requirements must be submitted to Ballet Arkansas at least one week before the first session

 

Optional Professional Photography with Matthew Sewell

  • Add a mini-shoot for professional audition photos and a headshot

  • Standalone professional photo package: $250 plus tax, booked directly through Matthew Sewell Photography or join the workshop on October 26

 

Registration Details

  • Cost: $350 for video + non-professional photo package

  • Optional: $250 for professional photos with Matthew Sewell or $225 for the Audition Prep + Photoshoot on October 26

  • Limited availability — sessions scheduled on a first come, first served basis
