Snow White

Important message from Ballet Arkansas Leadership on 3/12/2020:

At Ballet Arkansas, our first priority is to ensure that every patron, employee, and participant has an enjoyable experience with our programming. The well being of those in attendance at any Ballet Arkansas performance or special event is of great importance to our dancers, staff, and board of directors.

As you may be aware, due to the recent discovery of COVID-19 cases in Arkansas, cities across the state are taking various measures to limit the spread of the virus. This includes a number of school closures in districts throughout central Arkansas. With much sadness, as a preventative measure we have decided to cancel our spring performances of "Snow White" at the UA - Pulaski Tech: The Center for Humanities and Arts. The world-premiere production was slated to feature a community cast of nearly 40 local children, some of whom have been dismissed from school. Rehearsals were scheduled to begin tomorrow. While there is no cause for concern at Ballet Arkansas, it is our practice to refer to federal, state, and district guidelines when making important decisions that impact the health and safety of our performers and our audiences. At this juncture, we feel it is best to take preventative measures in line with actions being taken in our community. Those who have purchased tickets to attend "Snow White" will be contacted by our staff in the coming weeks to arrange ticketing options available to them.  Please consider making a contribution as we balance the changes that are ahead, as you are able. We will explore all available options to present the ballet as part of our 2020/21 season, or elsewhere in a consecutive season.

It is our hope to present our highly-anticipated Master/Works program as scheduled, April 24-26th at the UA - Pulaski Tech: The Center for Humanities and Arts. Rehearsals will continue as scheduled for our most dynamic program to date. We will continue to actively monitor the situation and will provide ample updates regarding upcoming performances and events as soon as they become readily available.

Please know that we care deeply about our community, and appreciate your support in this time of uncertainty.
