Day in the Life
My day typically starts around 6:50 am. I let my golden retriever, Cody, outside and feed him before I head off to the gym. I like to mix up my workouts between swimming and the elliptical along with a few arm and ab exercises. When I'm done, I'll head back home to have breakfast and take my dog on a walk before leaving for the studios. I like to have plenty of time to stretch and do my theraband exercises before class. When I was younger, I used to consider barre as my warm up but now I like to be decently warm before class begins. Company class starts at 10am and lasts an hour and fifteen minutes. We get a fifteen minute break between class and rehearsals which I use to go over new choreography or corrections I've received in previous rehearsals. I've started keeping a journal with all of my corrections so I can quickly glance at them depending on what rehearsals I have that day. We normally rehearse from 11:30 - 3 but the schedule varies daily because we have such a wide range of repertoire! After we finish rehearing for the day, I'll go home for lunch. I like to take Cody for another walk and work on my other job, selling Lipsense, before my husband Colton gets home from work. We typically make dinner together and then watch something on Netflix. Lately, I've been icing my feet at night because we've had a lot of long days on pointe and I've really found that although it feels like torture, it helps a ton for the next day. I'll read my bible for a half hour before I check tomorrow's schedule and climb into bed. I still can't believe that I get to do what I love everyday and call it my job.
